I grew up in New Jersey and Maryland. My Dad worked for Bell Labs, my Mom wrangled me and my four siblings. When she wasn’t singing in the Sweet Adelines chorus.

My father made all the furniture in our house, and I spent a lot of time in his wood shop working on my own projects. A serial hobbyist, he got me into photography. He bought expensive 35 mm cameras to take classically embarrassing family pictures.

My earliest memories of loving photography? When I was 10. I saved up my lawn-mowing money, bought a subscription to LIFE Magazine, was enthralled and amused by the photos by Alfred Eisenstaedt, and wanted more.

Later, I subscribed to Rolling Stone magazine, and really started studying the images. Mostly by Annie Leibovitz and Mark Seliger. They were doing such amazing, groundbreaking work.

I’d even study the catch lights in the subjects’ eyes to figure out how they lit them. Lighting fascinated me. Well, by the time I went to my first Photo Expo at Columbus Circle Convention Center in NYC I was completely hooked.

Fast forward 25 years: I met my wife, Angela, we had two kids, got married barefoot on Tortola, in the British Virgin Islands. Had another daughter a few years later. By then I was traveling 150 days a year doing annual reports for some of the world’s biggest and best companies. I loved it, and the traveling, I still do.

As bigger and bigger jobs rolled in, I also began photographing celebs and VIP’s. I never got rattled or nervous, no matter who I was photographing. As long as I was well prepared and professional, the heavy lifting was already done.

In 2016, I went on an entrepreneurial adventure: invented and patented a cell phone case called the LuMee. The first with lights for taking selfies. It took off. Kim Kardashian became a partner and my wife and I ran it. I was the in-house photographer. A wild three-year roller coaster ride till we sold the business in 2019; that brought us to Park City, Utah, where we based the company and live today.

I continue flying around the country, out of Salt Lake City, doing well-received photography projects for new and longtime clients. Those that want the eye, heart and high comfort and confidence level I’m glad to bring and be valued for.
